Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
Notify us without delay
If you, your child or anyone in the household has symptoms that could be COVID Get a PCR test. Do NOT use a LFD test.
DON’T Use LFD tests if instructed to self-isolate as a contact of a COVID case – a negative result (either LFD or PCR) will not allow your child to return to Pre-school before the end of the10 day self-isolation period.
If you have tested positive in the last 90 days you should NOT seek a PCR test and adults are advised NOT to undertake LFD asymptomatic testing during that 90 day period.
Most important of all:
If you have symptoms you must self-isolate as soon as they start
Book a test online and stay home while waiting for your appointment or home testing kit to arrive
Remain at home whilst awaiting your results / the self-isolation period is over – do not leave the house for any reason
If told you are a contact of someone with Covid you must follow the guidance issued.
Remember to follow guidelines we know can help stop Covid from spreading:
Wash hands or use sanitiser and clean shared surfaces regularly
Use face coverings if you can in busy, indoor spaces, shops and on public transport.
Maintain social distancing and meet outside where possible
Please see information on the council’s website on the current alert level for the city. We are working hard to try and ensure we can remain open.

ADVANCED NOTICE: From 16 August, if the close contact is under 18, they will not have to self-isolate (in line with the policy for fully vaccinated adults) but will be asked to take an PCR test immediately, other than for very young children identified as non-household contacts, and they will not need to self-isolate while awaiting the results of the test. If the PCR test is positive, they will be required to self-isolate for 10 days from the date of the test. NHS Test and Trace will then get in touch to identify close contacts. We are awaiting further guidance on these changes to self-isolation.
