What we do

Picture
Dolphins is a Pre-School (not a nursery) and is open during term-time. We accept children from 2 to 5 years old. Our session times  (Monday - Friday from September - July) are:

9.15am - 12.30pm     Morning Session**

9.15am - 2.30pm        All-day Session**

12.00pm - 2.30pm     Afternoon Session **

** "Bolt-On" Early (8.45am - 9.15am) and Late (2.30pm - 3.00pm) sessions available at extra cost subject to availability

The minimum number of sessions any child may take is two per week (taking just one session per week makes our Key Person approach untenable and also the child never properly gets to know his / her peers).

The majority of children join at the start of the Autumn term (September).  However, starts may be possible at other times of the year subject to availability (E.g. Spring & Summer terms)

Places at Dolphins are highly sought-after and we recommend applying early. We advise parents/carers of prospective new children visit our setting before enrolling. Virtual viewings may also be possible.

Our fees are modest. Currently, all parents/carers of three and four year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours a week free childcare from the term after their 3rd birthday.  Some three and four year olds can apply for upto an extra 15 hours of free childcare per week (making a total entitlement of upto 30 hours a week).  Some two year olds are also entitled to 15/30 hours a week free childcare.   The Government's Childcare Choices website  sets out all current and upcoming childcare offers and support available to parents/carers, including the Tax-Free Childcare scheme, the 15 and 30 free hours entitlement, tax credits, Universal Credit and childcare vouchers.  Parents/carers may apply for a payment plan (usually three instalments per term payable on the first day of each month).  Further details are available.
